The use of technology in the classroom can benefit both teachers and students. Seamless integration is the key to providing affordances to students with learning or physical disabilities. Throughout my career, I have researched and reinvented the concept of universal design.
Below are some of the examples of how we used universal design to successfully implement instructional technology.
Developer and Trainer
Superhero WebQuest
Oversaw planning, design, and implementation of a choose-your-own adventure on biogenetic engineering. Curriculum, through the Moodle platform, utilized Web 2.0 tools (blogs, discussion forums, wikis, assessments) to interactivity engage students. Currently used in Northside ISD.
Blog Training for Teachers
Oversaw planning, design, and implementation of training and teacher materials on utilizing blogs in K-16 classrooms. Currently used in Damon ISD, Round Rock ISD, Plano ISD, and UT at Austin.
Project Manager and Developer
Staging Your Home Game
Oversaw planning, design, and implementation of a Flash-based game on staging a home for higher resale. Currently used by Keller Williams Realty International.
